At our next stop on the EduRoadTrip, we met Mark French at the White House. The White House is a symbol of leadership in the United States, and we invited Mark to discuss leadership characteristics and development. Mark is the principal at Rice Lake Elementary in Maple Grove, MN. Be sure to listen in to hear about our Travel Agent, Mike Tempesco, and hear about TodaysMeet, an excellent backchanneling tool we pulled out of our suitcase.

Main Segment
Mark French, Principal at Rice Lake Elementary
Mark French discusses about what makes a good leader, including the top characteristics of leaders which are relationship-builder, curious learner, and effective communicator. He models these in his school, and encourages growth and leadership development of all teachers willing to step up to the challenge. Additionally, all leaders must be intentional, be prepared, and be a role model.
Travel Agent
Mike Tempesco: Mike is a graphic designer and friend of Justin Birckbichler, and he designed our EduRoadTrip logo.
What's in Out Suitcase?
TodaysMeet: Website for backchanneling, allows for real-time conversations during presentations. It is a great way to quickly communicate with staff for announcements, dismissal times, and snow-day updates.
